Two tips for a good spring AC start-up

Two tips for a good spring AC start-up

You might get an unpleasant surprise when you turn on your central air conditioner after it has been off for weeks or months.

It won’t start!

Be patient. The problem may just need a minor tweak.

• Perhaps the circuit tripped. Check your breaker box and reset the circuit. That could be the solution.

• Or the coils may have become dirty over time. A simple cleaning can help; condenser coils are in the outside unit, evaporator coils are inside the in-home unit.

If those two solutions fail, call a technician because the problem may be more serious.
