Beware sediment in the water heater

Tankless water heaters and conventional water heaters have an enemy in common: sediment.

That’s the stuff that settles to the bottom of a container of liquid.

Fortunately, the solution is to periodically flush and clean the system.

The flushing will expel natural minerals like magnesium and calcium that otherwise accumulate into small piles of sediment. (Don’t worry about the minerals; they occur naturally due to the heating.)

If you don’t flush your water heater at least annually, the sediment can make the water temperature erratic, raise your utility bill and eventually bring the system to a halt, meaning cold showers for you and your family!

No one services and installs water heaters better than the techs at Lighthouse HVAC, a locally owned company based in Brooklyn.
