No ducts? No problem! Tax credit, too

Here’s a solution if your home or business includes areas that lack ducts for heating and cooling.

Ductless mini-split heat pumps are great at cooling and heating areas that currently are too hot or too cold for year-round living. They’re also excellent in detached garages, new room additions and other spaces.

Ductless mini-splits are just like standard heat pumps, except they require less space and they offer more flexibility. They can heat and cool as many as four rooms, and they are very energy-efficient.

Since they have no ducts, you won’t have to worry about losing conditioned air to leaky ducts. And they are far more effective than a window AC unit.

These units use so little power that you will qualify for a 10 percent tax credit for the cost of your unit!

The downside

Ductless mini-splits can be expensive to install, and some people don’t like their appearance. But you do have options – suspend the indoor air handlers from the ceiling, hang them on a wall, or buy a floor unit.

And they certainly improve the quality of life for you and your family!
